Anthony Rozier

As Co-founder and Vice President of Wake-Up Mentoring Inc, I was born in Orlando, Florida. I spent most of my youth living back and forth in either Orlando,
Florida or Atlanta, Georgia. Since I was a kid, I loved being around kids, whether it was when I was in school or out of school playing sports. Once I hit high school I knew my future was going to involve kids.

Just like Dante, I struggled in middle school and the first year of high school. I was blessed to have grandmothers, grandfathers, a mother, uncles and aunties that did their best to push me to further my education beyond high school. I was accepted to the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, where I spent two years studying Sports Medicine. After those two years I transferred to Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. I earned a scholarship in football and track. I had a great college career in football, earning many awards. I graduated from Graceland University where I earned a Bachelor’s of Art degree in Physical Education and Health, with an emphasis in Community Health. During my college years I’ve worked with kids, mentoring, teaching, and coaching. Soon after graduating I became a professional football athlete.

In March of ’05 I signed with the Tupelo Fire Ants. In March of ’06 I signed with the Bossier-Shreveport Battlewings. In March of ’07 I signed with the Florida Firecats in the Arena II football league. Currently, I’m playing football. Because of my passion for sports, I’m a volunteer football coach. I work with under- privileged youth and I’m a assistant football coach at Freedom High School in Tampa, Florida under Head Coach Marquel Blackwell.

My desire to help the kids in the intercity, led to my enthusiasm for WAKE-UP Mentoring. Serving as the Vice President of WAKE-UP, I will be responsible for the overall operational aspect of the organization. My knowledge of the local school boards and community will be of assistance as we begin this endeavor to assist the young people of our community.
